No, it is your responsibility to check and make sure the seals are closed. this product has been tested for up to 20 meters waterproof... Why you would take your Ipad Scuba diving, who knows...Id suggest a waterproof Camera case.

it 100% keeps water out...but again its not meant for surfing...its meant for the beach to keep clean from sand water, rain, use in the bath tub, shower, or the pool...it would be better to go diving with the Iphone case or even better WaterProof camera case, most digital cameras can film in HD...and will take much better photos than ipad or iphone ever will.

its actually very strong PET plastic...it's much stronger than it looks in the photos, its like a hard rubber, but still soft...no water will leak in, it has double seals on the inside and it folds over...
