The charger comes with a USB plug to plug into your computer to charge. Typically for a full charge about 6 hours is recommended. The device should last for about 5-7 years based on usage.

The charge from the external battery to the mobile device is much quicker than a typical charge. Usually within an hour you should be able to empty the charge from the battery to your mobile device

The amount of battery varies from device to device. But this is a 2600 mAh battery pack. You might be able to determine how much battery this will provide by visiting the user manual to your phone or contacting that makes your specific phone.

First you have to charge the battery itself by plugging the cord into the battery and the USB end into your iPhone wall outlet plug or even a computer. Once the battery is charged you can then take your iPhone 5 cord and plug one end into your phone like you would when normally charging it, and then plug the USB end into the battery and it will start charging automatically
