It is a universal solar charger and will charge mobile phone devices. We have tested it on an iPhone 5 and it does charge. Please remember that it is a solar charger and will take some time to fully charge your device as it does not provide an instantaneous full charge.

A laptop and today's tablets take a lot more energy than this solar charger can hold so it will not charge laptops or tablets. This Solio charger will charge your cell phone, smart phone, iPod, MP3 player, PDA, Bluetooth headset, game player, GPS or digital camera--and thousands of other similar devices.

When you charge the Solio, the power is stored in the solar charger for up to a year. For example, you can charge the Solio and put it in your emergency disaster kit and the power will be available for you to use for up to a year. Once you use the power that is stored in the charger, you can continue recharging the Solio and reusing it. I hope that answers your question.

Great question! Charging it via sunlight will vary on the time it takes to charge the unit. It takes 8-10 hours to fully charge a Solio from the sun, a minium of 2 days to fully charge. But once it's charge, the Solio will hold the power for up to a year for you to use. Placing the charger behind a glass window will reduce the amount of energy absorbed by the solar panels.
