A local elementary school, which generated the most sign-ups for Screamin Daily Deals, was the recipient of school supplies this morning.
Mitchell Community Elementary School in Canyon Country generated more than 200 new sign-ups for Screamin Daily Deals emails, besting four other schools for the top spot.
"This is a great opportunity for us to benefit the community," said Benson Kane, cofounder of Screamin Daily Deals. "We are able to benefit merchants, consumers, schools and individual communities."
Screamin Daily Deals is a website where they provide certificates to local business at a discount price.
The coupons help generate awareness and costumers for the businesses, while also generating money for schools by giving back 5-10 percent based on users selecting which school they want to support.
The entire school came out for the presentation of the supplies, rounding up more than 700 students for a picture around the playground equipment.
Mrs. Waller's fourth grade class generated the most sign-ups for the school and in return won a pizza party.
Another competition is being planned for the near future and all schools are invited to join in for a chance to win.
